Restorative yoga is a style of yoga where traditional postures are modified with props or other supports. The practice of restorative yoga is good for everyone because it does not demand a great deal of physical effort. Restorative yoga postures differ from freestanding postures because they do not require intense muscular activity to maintain the position. Using props to support the muscles allows the body to release tension and achieve deep relaxation. This style of practice was developed to promote relaxation of body, mind and spirit and to cope with stress. Restorative yoga leads to rejuvenation, healing and renewal through relaxation!
